September Newsletter

    Hi All!

We were very honored to have our Department President, Dianna King, at our Post on July 28th.  She was in the Valley on business and we invited her to visit and have a meet and greet with members and Officers from our Unit and District.  She was very personable and the feedback from Post 37 members and guests was very impressive, Thanks to all who helped and worked in the kitchen.

National Convention was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the end of August and we are very proud to have our Past President, Betty Petit, attend as a delegate and represent Unit 37, District 15 and the Department of Texas.

Membership renewal notices will be mailed out this month so please send your $20 annual dues to Secretary Chris Stout and help us accomplish our 100% goal.

Labor Day, September 6th, we will have a bake sale in conjunction with the Legion BBQ.  Please bake your favorite goodies and have them at the Post by Noon that day.

15th District Convention will be held October 22-24th at Post 408 in Edinburg.  If you are able to attend and would like to be a delegate, come to our next meeting, as we will be electing our delegates at this time.

Let us remember MIA-POW Day Friday, September 17th.  We honor the Veterans and Military that sacrifice to preserve the freedom we enjoy today.

Great news concerning Barbara Kelly.  She is off the respirator, breathing on her own and slowly getting better.  Hang in there, Barb. Our thoughts and prayers with you.

Our condolences go out to Betty Petit in the loss of her brother and sister who passed away within 36 hours of each other.

Our executive meeting will be Tuesday, September 7th at 6:30 PM and our General meeting will be Saturday 12th at 10:39 AM.  A potluck will follow the General meeting and we will set up our committees and chairmen for the upcoming year.  Please join us and bring a dish to pass.  Hope to see you there.

The date of our meeting is also 9/11 and it was nine years ago when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and thousands of people were killed.  This is a day we will never forget!

God Bless Our Veterans and Troops

God Bless America

Bev Thorsen
